The 2012 coin from the Lunar II series carries the dragon's motive. In symbol of the dragon were born in years 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000 and 2012. Again, the symbol of the dragon will appear in 2024.

Coins are minted by the Australian Perth Mint, which makes each coin bearing the mint mark, letter "P".

  • Each coin contains 2 ozt .999 pure silver (Ag).
  • The diameter of the coin is 55.60mm.
  • Coins are packed in original protective capsules. 5 coins are packed in a welded plastic foil wrap.
  • The dragon is shown on the coin. Above is a Chinese symbol for the year of the dragon - 龙. Below is the inscription "Year of the Dragon". The coin also has the mint mark Perth Mint - P.
  • The other side of the coin carries the profile of the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Portrait is surrounded by date, nominal value and silver content - weight and purity.
  • The coin is issued by the Australian Government.

The Australian Perth Mint is located in the city of Perth on the west coast of Australia. It started operating on June 20, 1899 as a branch of the English Royal Mint from London. It was founded in order to refine the large quantities of gold obtained during the gold rush. From this they then minted gold Sovereigns for the British Empire. In 1987, an Act of Parliament established the Gold Corporation, which, in partnership with the Commonwealth of Australian Treasury, became the new operator of the Perth Mint.
